NSU TV

"Watch us on NSU's YouTube Channel"

Have you ever wanted to be on TV? Host a talk show? Be a TV reporter? Learn to operate a camera? Write scripts? Give weather updates? Be a sports reporter? Design graphics for a broadcast? Then, these opportunities and more await you at NSU and our state-of-the art facilities.

The University's official television channel, NSU TV, provides students broadcast experiences in reporting, writing and producing for television and for online video. Some of these experiences are part of journalism broadcast classes while others are extracurricular. Each semester, students across campus are encouraged to audition for the various positions needed to air a live newscast.

Located on the first floor of Kyser Hall in the Ora G. Williams television studio, the production facilities for NSU TV include both linear and nonlinear editing bays; SVHS/VHS, Beta SP and Mini DV tape machines and cameras; studio quality cameras with teleprompting systems; dual channel MLE switcher; weather station; digital audio mixer and character generator.

Besides a live 30-minute newscast, students also produce "Demon Life," a 30-minute talk show featuring various aspects of university life, a talk show featuring the University's president and other special interest programs.
