Jung Lim joined the Journalism Department faculty in August 2006 as an assistant professor. Because of her extensive background, she teaches across the curriculum.

 

Prior to coming to NSU, Lim taught more than a dozen sections of an undergraduate introductory educational technology course for pre-service teachers and a graduate multimedia development course at Florida State University, where she completed her doctoral studies (2001-2006). From 1996 to 2001, after she earned her master’s in Mass Communication (Radio-TV major), she was involved in numerous corporate Web projects in the United States and South Korea as a Web project manager, Web advertising producer, online content designer and Web programmer. She directed and coordinated the production of corporate and commercial Web sites as well as the promotion of the sites. She also supervised team members including programmers and Web graphic designers in all aspects of production.

 

Previously, she designed and developed 15/30-second Web advertisements and developed various commercial and corporate Web sites at both the local and international levels. During the time, she served as a judge for several national/ regional outstanding Web site contests in South Korea. For a scholastic award, her conference proceeding titled Employee Relations: The Question of Job Satisfaction was selected as the top paper in the Public Relations Division at the SSCA (Southern States Communication Association) Conference in 1996.

 

With regard to teaching, because of her doctorate in instructional systems, Lim likes to incorporate various instructional technologies and theories to educational settings. She is particularly interested in designing instruction that facilitates the acquisition and transfer of complex skills.
